The proposed trial should have 3 intervention groups: a polypill group, a precision medicine group, and a conventional risk factor modification group. All 3 intervention groups would receive standard diet and exercise education. To test the concept behind the polypill, trial inclusion criteria should be sufficiently broad and simple so that a large fraction of the general public meets them. If this approach is followed, recruiting sufficient participants to an adequately powered trial is highly feasible.
